The Daile Theater |
The Daile Theater was first opened on November 19, 1920 , this year it is celebrating its 90th anniverery.
Initially the Daile Theater was housed in a building at Lāčplēša Street 25 (the New Riga Theater is located there now) but in 1977 the theatre moved to a Soviet style building, built specially for this purpose.
From 1941 there used to work also the famous Latvian actor Ēvalds Valters - for a long time he was recognized as the oldest working actor in the world ( he was 100 years old!).
