The site has still has prices in Lats (LVL), pages are not updated since long long time ago, but in any case it stays as it is as a nice souvenir to old times.
This statue is on the banks of Daugava river near the presidents castle. If you cross the street at the Occupation Museum, turn right and follow the path towards the bridge you will see this statue.
Wooden statue first appeared in Riga in year 1510. It reflects guardian of fishermen and poor. In Middle Ages people decorated statue with ribbons, flowers and candles to gain protection.
Current statue is on display since 2001, original is stored in Museum of Riga of History and Navigation.
