Town Hall Square (Rātslaukums) |
Although Town Hall Square historically was much smaller than today, it hosted many things - market, celebrations, tournaments and even executions.
Original buildings were distroyed in WorldWar II, but two most important have been replicated - House of the Blackheads and Town Hall. Between them stands Statue of Roland who is considered to be fair judge and honest guardian of city.
In the center of Town Hall Square is Museum of Occupation, behind that - Riflemen Statue.
