Walking on the frozen river in Winter 2010

I started from the edge of Daugava river that is near the old town, got on the ice and walked all the way to the other side, on the way took pictures of the frozen river, the city skyline. I arrived to the other side of the river, walked a bit on the part of Riga that is on the other side of the river and turned and walked back in the same way.

Note: Before getting on the frozen river I made sure that the ice is thick enough and would not break.
The place where I stood had two levels of Ice: the movie shows the first level which got cracked when I was stepping on it. Under this level of Ice there was a second level of ice that was around 15 CM thick.
DO NOT try this by yourself! walking on frozen ice can be very dangerous and especially without being able to measure the stability of the Ice.
